Overview

In the process of learning, students are bound to make errors. When an error arises during a whole-class discussion, there can be tension between supporting an individual student in working through the error and the impact that dwelling on the error might have on the rest of the class.

This part explores how teachers can use student errors to support students’ understanding and use of representations shared by classmates.
