Overview

This part focuses on a debate about representation (g). There is agreement that (g) can represent ¾, but disagreement about whether the ¾ corresponds to ¾ of one bottle or ¾ of three bottles. In the discussion, representations play a central role in the efforts to explain and understand mathematical ideas.
