Session Summary

This session focused on why representations are foundational in both mathematics and mathematics teaching. It identified key ideas about fractions and types of connections that can be made with representations.

Session 3 will continue this work, building on and extending the ideas about representing fractions that have been raised. It also develops a fundamental mathematical idea: the definition of a fraction.
