Session Summary

This session focused on articulating key ideas about fractions. These ideas were used to make connections across representations and to develop a working definition of a fraction. The session also identified benefits of using multiple representations in elementary teaching.

Session 4 builds on and uses these ideas to explore a key representation in mathematics: the number line.
