Overview

Session 3 focused on articulating key ideas about fractions, making connections across different representations, and developing a working definition of a fraction.

Session 4 launches the module’s work on an important representation in mathematics: the number line. The session focuses on:

  • Interpreting student thinking about the use of a number line
  • Using the number line to explain mathematical ideas
  • Exploring and articulating key properties of the number line
