Session Summary

This session focused on explaining and evaluating methods and solutions to a mathematics problem, considering teaching practices relevant to teaching students to reason and explain, and identifying parts of the video workshop process.

Session 3 will build on the work in Sessions 1 and 2 by extending into giving and evaluating explanations, noticing teaching practices that support students’ engagement in reasoning, and understanding students’ reasoning.
