Session Summary

This session focused on scaling mathematics problems and engaging in a video workshop with a focus on noticing students’ reasoning and teaching moves to establish and maintain an environment that nurtures mathematical practice.

Session 5 ramps up work on mathematical explanations by naming particular features of good mathematical explanations and identifying strategies that teachers use to make explaining and other mathematical practices explicit to students.
