CULINARY KIDS: COOKING ADVENTURE
\n<\/span><\/span><\/strong>This week, the culinary students whipped up some mouth watering Italian dishes, including mini pizzas, cheesy garlic bread, and creamy Fettuccine Alfredo. Our culinary adventures also included a visit from a special guest \u2014 Chef Trevor from Zippy’s restaurants. FULL STEAM AHEAD
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/span>This week in class, students wrapped up their natural disaster project on building tornado-proof homes. It was impressive to see their designs being put to the test against wind and debris, especially with the limited supplies they had to work with.
\n<\/span>In addition, students had a blast creating slime, a project they have been eagerly anticipating since the beginning of the summer program. Before diving into the hands-on activity, they learned about the different states of matter.
\nFurthermore, students began working on their roller coaster projects, which they will be testing out next week. \n<\/span><\/strong><\/span>T<\/span>his week we were fortunate enough to have a guest speaker come to speak to us about Ocean pollution, plastics, and how we can help to keep our Ocean clean and safe. Each place helped us to explore this amazing island. MINECRAFT: CREATING AND CODING
\n<\/span><\/strong><\/span>Students are completing activities in Minecraft for the Coding portion of this Summer class! They completed Hour of Code lessons, which are created every year and provided by Minecraft Education. SCIENCE FUN FAIR
\n<\/span><\/span><\/strong>This week Junior Scientists finished their Roller Coaster engineering challenge and created several amazing themed roller coasters; The Flaming Thunder, The Kraken Catastrophe, and The Jungle Adventure Coaster. Then we voted for the best Roller Coaster!
\nWe then transitioned to our next topic- food science! Students started on their new project; creating a Solar Oven to make yummy s’mores!
