Welcome to COE Summer Programs!\u00a0 Summer is almost here, and we’re sure some of you are wondering what to expect this summer. Here\u2019s what you can expect on the first day!<\/p>\n
7:30 am: Morning drop-off begins.\u00a0<\/strong> The welcome packet mailed to your address contains a\u00a0copy of your child’s schedule to bring on the first day<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 It will help us direct them to the correct class.<\/p>\n Every morning students will sit at their assigned class tables and wait for their teachers to arrive.<\/p>\n 8:00 am:<\/strong> Morning Student Orientation<\/strong>. Morning Classes:<\/strong> 11:45 am:<\/strong> Class is done!<\/strong> Lunch Time:<\/strong> Full-day students will have 45 minutes for lunch and recess. Students who purchased a meal plan will line up outside the kitchen to pick up their lunch. AM-only students who purchased lunch, will be taken to Zone B at 12:15pm for pick-up.<\/p>\n 11:50 am: Lunch Pick-up and Drop-off begins.<\/strong> Afternoon drop-off will follow the same procedures as Morning drop-off.<\/p>\n 12:30 pm:<\/strong> Afternoon Student Orientation. \nEnter our parking lot from Metcalf Street and drive down to Zone A. Staff in orange safety vests will assist your children from the car. They should be ready to go\u2014shoes on and bags in hand.\u00a0 If you plan to stay for a while, you must find alternate parking. A UH-issued pass is required to park in our lot.<\/p>\n
\nThe orientation is intended for students, but parents may join stay and watch from the back of the room. We will share program information<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and go over behavior expectations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
\nAfter Orientation, students will be escorted to their classrooms. If you arrive after your child’s class has left the cafeteria, head to the SP office in room 136 for a late pass. On the first day, each class will take student photos and receive their Summer Programs t-shirts and IDs.\u00a0 Every day, students will have a mid-morning recess.<\/p>\n
\nStudents will be escorted back to the MPB. Departing students will sign out and be escorted to the Dole Street pick-up area (Zone B). Full-day students will remain in the MPB for lunch and recess.\u00a0 See the handbook for the full dismissal procedures.<\/p>\n
\nStudent pick-up is at the Dole Street Zone B location. The first week is always a bit hectic, so please be patient as we learn the new names and faces and familiarize the students with our procedures. Review the pick up procedures in the Orientation video and Student Handbook.<\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>We will repeat the same Orientation from the morning for our afternoon-only students. It will also serve as a refresher for the morning students.<\/p>\n
\nAfter Orientation, students will be escorted to their classrooms. Afternoon only students will take student photos and receive their Summer Programs t-shirts and IDs.\u00a0 Every day, students will have a mid-afternoon recess.<\/p>\n

\nStudents enrolled in the After-School Program will participate in activities such as craft projects, outdoor games, science experiments, and more!\u00a0 Parents may sign out their child from the MPB cafeteria with the afterschool teacher. Last pick-up is at 5:30 pm.\u00a0 Late fees will apply for pickup after 5:30pm.<\/p>\n
