Geometric-measurement - Session 10: Connecting dimensions of measurement

Part 1: Overview and sharing examples of teaching measurement

video of math teacher

Overview

Session 9 concluded a series of session on the Learning Trajectory for volume measurement. Session 10 concludes the module with opportunities to

  • Engage in an anecdotal notes workshop based on experiences teaching a measurement task as part of the CCA
  • Make connections across dimensions of measurement and between measurement systems
  • Reflect on this professional development experience

This part provides a final opportunity to engage in the anecdotal notes workshop.

Key Point

The practice of taking anecdotal notes can provide a wealth of information about student learning in an accessible format. Anecdotal notes are easier to reference than other records of student thinking, such as classroom video.
