Geometric-measurement - Session 4: Area Learning Trajectory – Mathematical goals

Part 4: Making sense of measures of area

video of math teacher

Overview

This part continues the discussion of measuring the area of the room by focusing on the relationship between the ratio of between the two measures of area that were found in Part 2 and the ratio of the two units used in those measures. The purpose of this activity is to focus on the connection between linear units and area units.
