Session Summary

This session is the first of three that will focus on the measurement of area. It focused on exploring area measurement and applying different measures of area, analyzing how area measurement is represented in standards for student learning, and unpacking the mathematics involved in measuring area.

The next session will focus on a developmental progression for learning area measurement and illustrate how key concepts are shown when students measure area.
