Overview

Session 7 launched work on area measurement by focusing on exploring area measurement, analyzing how area measurement is represented in standards for student learning, and unpacking the mathematics involved in measuring area.

Session 8 extends the work from Session 7. This session focuses on

  • Discussing the student thinking observed in the Classroom Connection Activity assessment task
  • Unpacking the developmental progression for the Learning Trajectory for volume by watching students measure

Session 7 focused on the “goal” of the Learning Trajectory for volume; this session focuses on the developmental progression.
