Geometric-measurement - Session 8: Volume Learning Trajectory – Developmental progression

Part 2: Sharing experiences from the Classroom Connection Activity

video of math teacher

Overview

This part launches the work in this session by connecting key concepts of volume measurement to the student thinking that observed during the Classroom Connection Activities.

Key Point

Interviewing students about a sequence of tasks not only provides information about the students’ thinking but it can also serve a learning experience for the students. Probing students’ thinking about a sequence of strategically designed tasks can help push their thinking forward.
