FULL STEAM AHEAD
This week in Full STEAM Ahead, we delved into the world of STEAM and engaged in various activities to spark creativity. The students had a blast creating their names out of recycled materials and designing a leg for our spider friend, Frank. They also explored watercolors to craft a web for Frank and wrapped up the week by crafting tool boxes and other gifts for some special people in their lives using recycled materials. It was truly an exciting and hands-on week of learning! We are looking forward to our continued journey of exploration and discovery in Full STEAM Ahead.
HNS: EXPLORERS
This week we learned about seeds, plants, and flowers. Students did lots of drawing, coloring, and painting too! They planted bush bean seeds, and did leaf art. They also went on lots of walks around campus looking for seeds, leaves, and flowers. They picked flowers, analyzed the different sizes, colors, and smells and then made mini bouquets to take home. On Thursday, they will be learned about ants, and had a guest speaker teach them about fire ants.
HNS: OBSERVERS

We also fed their chickens and pet their goats, as well as played in their awesome playground. We will be planting seeds Friday to be able to watch plants grow.
HNS: RESEARCHERS
This week we stepped into the world of ahupua’a or land division in Hawaii. Student selected the animals that they will research for the summer project. We also had a insect investigation/hunt. Student explored outside to see the various insects that they could find in different areas of campus. We also created our fall leaves art project. Students used leaves found around campus to create an artful sheet of how leaves are found outside as we walk in nature.
