Robotics with VEX Create Tank Treads [Week 4]

This week we worked on creating tank treads for our bots. Tank treads are a little more complicated to create and require more planning to add to our bot bases. Tank bots move slower but can carry or move a heavier bot and can turn and maneuver more precisely. We did our “ball mover” challenge again with tank treads instead of wheeled bots and discovered that all of the tank bots moved more precisely and groups had an easier time moving and controlling the 6 balls from the starting line to the finish box.  And even though the tank bots were slower, the groups were able to finish the challenge faster. We started our ball launcher bots on Wednesday and tested, launched, and challenged each other with our launchers on Friday.
