This week was such a fun week! Our focus for the week was reefs, shores, and marine animals. We started the week with a field trip to the Waikiki Aquarium where the kids saw tropical fish and sharks. They even touched live hermit crabs and wana (sea urchins). We continued to learn about the food chains in the water. We studied phytoplankton and created our own food chain web which included sharks, tuna, jellyfish, algae and more. We ended our week with a visit to the Makapu’u tide pools where we saw sea cucumbers and sea stars. Lastly, our chrysalis finally turned into a beautiful monarch butterfly and flew into the sky.
