CULINARY KIDS: COOKING ADVENTURE
This week, the culinary students whipped up some mouth watering Italian dishes, including mini pizzas, cheesy garlic bread, and creamy Fettuccine Alfredo. Our culinary adventures also included a visit from a special guest — Chef Trevor from Zippy’s restaurants. Chef Trevor shared his culinary adventures and background with the class, and helped guide the students in creating some delicioso spaghetti which was an invaluable experience for everyone.
FULL STEAM AHEAD
This week in class, students wrapped up their natural disaster project on building tornado-proof homes. It was impressive to see their designs being put to the test against wind and debris, especially with the limited supplies they had to work with.
In addition, students had a blast creating slime, a project they have been eagerly anticipating since the beginning of the summer program. Before diving into the hands-on activity, they learned about the different states of matter.
Furthermore, students began working on their roller coaster projects, which they will be testing out next week. It’s been wonderful to witness their creativity and problem-solving skills in action.
HNS: EXPLORERS
This week we were fortunate enough to have a guest speaker come to speak to us about Ocean pollution, plastics, and how we can help to keep our Ocean clean and safe. The students learned about the desert and rainforest biomes and we took a fun field trip to the Honolulu zoo.
HNS: OBSERVERS
This week have expanded our study of animals to include birds, amphibians, reptiles and mammals. This was great background for visiting the zoo! The students had a great time and were able to see a lot of animals.
HNS: RESEARCHERS
This week was full of adventures. We learned about ocean pollution and micro plastics. We got to visit our local zoo and head over to the historic Manoa cottage. Each place helped us to explore this amazing island. Ask your child which one they though was the most interesting
LET’S PLAY SPORTS
This week, we had TOA Rugby Club come and visit our class, teaching our kids the basics and fundamentals of rugby.
LITTLE JOURNALISTS
This week the Little Journalists found new writing partners and worked on covering stories as either a journalist or a photo journalist. They continued to hone their reporter’s writing style, and some delved into covering their favorite food or activity.
MINECRAFT: CREATING AND CODING

They allow students to learn how to code through fun mystery-solving stories filled with mini-puzzles in Minecraft.

Shooting Stars have been hard at work on their showcase!! We took a small break to have a movie day, but were back in action!!
