CULINARY KIDS: COOKING ADVENTURE
This week in Culinary Kids, we made our trip back home to Hawaii to make some local favorites here on the islands. Starting with our delicious nigiri and maki sushi, we kicked off the week making dishes with lots of rice! On Thursday, we had our Open House and prepared a ton of samplers for parents to try. As a dessert for the final week of the program, we made some Guri Guri for parents and kids to try!

HNS: EXPLORERS
This week, we wrapped up a wonderful summer of exploring Hawaiʻi’s natural world together! Students visited the Makapuʻu Tide Pools, where they practiced their kilo (careful observation) skills while observing marine plants and animals in their natural habitats and learning how to care for these special ecosystems. In the classroom, students investigated different types of shells and discovered how their shapes and structures help the animals inside survive. They also completed a collaborative ocean mural and put the finishing touches on their biome dioramas before proudly sharing their work with families at Open House. We ended our final week with a fun Water Day to celebrate all of the learning, curiosity, and friendships that grew throughout the summer. Mahalo to all of our students and families for making Hawaiʻi Nature Explorers such a memorable experience!
